Review: From Fame To Shame by Veronica Blade

Book Description (via Goodreads):
When good-girl Maddie switches places with her famous bad-girl twin Jackie, she has some pretty high stilettos to fill.

Despite the danger of tabloid drama if their identity swap is discovered, Maddie has to save her sister's butt. When Jackie’s ex-boyfriend shows up with a rekindled spark for “Jackie,” his deep gray eyes and sweet kisses make Maddie's heart thumpety thump. But dating the guy who dumped her sister is a no-no. Too bad Dallas isn’t used to girls saying no. What will happen when he discovers Maddie’s deception?

My Review:
Can we say great book? I do think so! Veronica Blade has again made me fall in love with a book, she never ceseases to amaze me when it comes to her writing and stories. This was not a paranormal book, which is my normal reading, but i fell in love with it just the same. An amazing story of the bonds of sisters and what lengths we will go to, to help them. The characters in this story, and please note it is a novella/short story length book, are very likable, the story very addicting, and it kept me up til about 4-5am reading it, because i just couldn't put it down. And i just have 2 words: Dallas = YUM!. I mean seriously, where can i get one of him? This book is just another example of why i love to read, and i look forward in anticipation with what Veronica will throw my way next! I recommend this book to basically anyone (girls mostly as it is a girly book) because i know you will love it as much as i did.

Waiting On Wednesday (7)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

Alice In Zombieland
by Gena Showalter
Publication Date: September 25, 2012

Description from Goodreads:

She won’t resist until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever.
Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.

Her father was right. The monsters are real….

To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies….

I wish I could go back and do a thousand things differently.
I'd tell my sister no.
I'd never beg my mother to talk to my dad.
I'd zip my lips and swallow those hateful words.
Or, barring all of that, I'd hug my sister, my mom and my dad one last time.
I'd tell them I love them.
I wish... Yeah, I wish.

What's your "waiting on" pick this week?

Review: A Bite's Tale (A Fury Fable) by Veronica Blade

Book description (via Goodreads): PLEASE NOTE: This is a novella, appx 155 printed pages

A Cinderella who spends her nights as a wolf. A prince with a taste for blood. This is more than your average fairy tale.

The Cinderella: Seventeen year old Cydney struggles against her werewolf nature, attempting to keep everyone around her safe. She tries to carve out some semblance of a life, but can’t forget the boy she loved three summers ago — or what she did to him after losing control and shifting. No way will Cydney risk exposing the beast at the prince’s ball, no matter how her two cousins try to persuade her.

The Prince: Turned into a vampire to save his life, the prince refuses to live up to his royal duties. He just wants to find the girl he loved and lost...the werewolf girl who bit him. But his father, the king, commands him to attend a ball where he must choose a wife. Can he find his Cinderella before he's forced to marry another? He doesn’t even have her real name, much less a glass slipper.

My Review:
I was kindly given a review copy of this by the author so i want to thank her for that!

I have been given the privilage of reading all of Veronica's books she has released so far for review, and she has yet to disappoint me! I loved this book, a very enchanting new take on Cinderella, clad with vampire's, werewolves and sorcerer's! I wanted more when i finished it. The character's were very likable, and it always kept me wanting to know what was gonna happen next. The story is written in alternating perspectives between the 2 main character's which made you root for them that much more. Anyone who loves a good paranormal love story or fairytales retold will devour this book, and if that isn't your usual genre read it anyway! LOL. I look forward to what Veronica will do next as she has become one of my favorite author's. Great book!
